August 2008 Cordova Towne in a Commercial: We were asked us to play a small part in a series of Rancho Cordova PSA commercials a couple of months ago that the City had Peppers TV shoot. Well, we ended up having residents in 2 of the 4 commercials and the videos are posted on our YouTube channel for your enjoyment. The first video has a very brief "we are Cordova Towne" shout and the second video has a resident saying "I love Rancho Cordova" in Spanish. See www.youtube.com/cordovatowne to view the videos. |

February 2008 Cordova Towne e-Group: The e-Group is a forum for residents of the Cordova Towne neighborhood and surrounding White Rock area of Rancho Cordova. It has just launched and we trust that it will be a profound way for residents to communicate with each other and also the City. Since communicating together is one of the most important aspects of building a dynamic community, this e-group is a great way to help us chat. You'll be able to take part in a virtual discussion on a wide range of topics. By simply sending one e-mail message to the Cordova Towne e-Group address, your message will be distributed to everyone on the list! You are welcome to participate as much as you'd like or simply lurk in the background. The e-group is a great place to ask advice, advise neighbors of suspicious activity, and have conversation about neighborhood stuff. Topics range to include discussions on events, crime, concerns, real estate, yard sales, Rancho politics, local issues, meetings, resident life, solutions to problems, traffic, city issues, local resources, blight, family life, and whatever else we might want or need to chat about. This is a good place too to give away free stuff to fellow residents You can see our e-Group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/cordovatowne/ and sign up HERE. |

November 2007 Community Resources Guide: The Cordova Towne Neighborhood Association now has an on-line Resource Guide on our website which lists over 150 organizations and services that are relevant for our community. The guide has categories such as "Housing," "Family Services," "Neighborhood Services," and "Recreation," and lists contact information as well as a brief description of the services provided. We hope that this will be a useful tool for residents and families in the local area. The information was compiled by a resident by researching all of the organizations listed in the Cordova Community Collaborative Resource Guide, then adding on contact information and details, and then relying upon further web research, phone calls, and personal knowledge as well as tips from other Cordova Towne residents in order to add other organizations to our guide. The Resource Guide is linked from our home page or you can find it at www.cordovatowne.com/resources.html |

September 2007 Cordova Towne to Support Relay for Life: A Cordova Towne resident (Windy Mathison) has established a Cordova Towne Team to take part in the upcoming Relay for Life event in early October. In her own words, "Each year our community of Rancho Cordova rallies together and Fights back against cancer. For 24 hours on October 6-7 we walk the track at Mills Jr. High. We do this because cancer never sleeps." Please join the Cordova Towne Team for this event and be on the lookout for more information on the blog, website, and neighborhood email list. Each team member can select a 30-minute interval for when to do his/her walking on the track during October 6-7. |

| May 2007 Announcing Walking Nights: The Summer will kick off a series of events geared toward building a stronger community in Cordova Towne. So we will begin with Walking Nights, which is a simple yet powerful idea. The gist is that on three nights this summer (June 20, July 25, August 22), we’ll get out as a neighborhood, walk around the block, say hello, maybe meet some people we don’t know yet, and get some exercise. As an extra draw, there will also be a raffle to win $100 worth of gift cards. The purpose is to have a family-oriented night in order to promote a strong sense of community within Cordova Towne (and get some exercise). Walking Nights will help us be connected, have fun, and enjoy our neighborhood, which is a strong recipe for helping to develop Cordova Towne as a positive, safe, and enjoyable place to live. So between the hours of 6:30-8:00pm on three Wednesday nights (June 20, July 25, & August 22), bring yourself and your family out to walk around the neighborhood. Ride a bike if you’d like, tow the kids in a wagon, bring your wheelchair, be creative, etc….. Since the goal is to be connected while having fun, walk around as much as you are able to between the hours of 6:30-8:00pm. Of course, if health issues hold you back from participating, then sitting on your porch and waving to walkers would be fantastic. We would love to see as many people as possible participate.
